Showing Faith With Finances - by Heather Lynn

We can show our faith when we honor God with our finances. We can also do the complete opposite: we can show lack of faith when we are greedy with money or live in such a way that does not show our trust in Him. 1 Timothy 6:10 says, “For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.” The way we treat money shows whether or not we trust in the Lord.

Money can cause divisions in families, can create bitterness and hatred, and can drive people to make decisions they will regret. However, it can also be a blessing when given as a gift or offering and can have lasting effects when used to make good decisions. For example, when a person budgets and uses extra money each month to save toward either getting rid of debt, investing in the future by making a big purchase like a house, or giving toward a ministry or someone in need, the rewards can bring joy, peace, and satisfaction for that person. God will bless the careful decisions of the believer when they see money as something to invest towards the future and to bless others. However, a person will only experience failure, harm, and a lack of faith when he or she treats money as something to be hoarded or spent without careful thought. God wants us to involve Him in our decision making when it comes to money. He wants us to use money to invest in our future, the futures of our children, and bless those around us.

We can have faith that when we make careful decisions and trust God with our finances, He will protect us and bless us. He alone is faithful and will lead and guide us in our decision making. It is never too late to start with a clean slate and trust in Him with your money.

Name Recognition - Branding

When you think of the Catholic Church, what comes to mind? The Vatican, the Pope, Nuns, Priests, Rome? It dawned on me not so very long ago, that when people say they are a Christian, the meaning could be almost anything, and have nothing to do with Christ.   The reason I bring this point up is, my hearts desire is to see the Body of Christ united, strong, and economically empowered, and ministry's funded, mission work done and the Gospel of Jesus Christ preached to all the ends of the earth.       I know, but they are soooo cute!!! Have you ever seen shoe salesmen begging for you to come in and by the latest pair of Prada shoes? Of course not!   How about that $750.00 Coach bag, (at the outlet stores)? Men, just why do you have to have those $916.00 rims? Does it really make the car drive better?   How much for those Stacy Adams shoes, yes, men love to shop for the best too! If not Stacy Adams, what about Tommy Hilfiger? The point I want to make...

Inspired by the Word

What is it that inspires you? Is it a person? Is it a musician, or an athlete, or someone spiritual in your life who you look up to? Maybe it is not necessarily a person, but something like an event or experience that someone has had. Everyone draws inspiration from someone or something. The world watches for anything they can to find inspiration in, but yet they won’t look to the Lord. They allow others to hold that spot in their lives, but not the Creator. When we as Christians draw inspiration from the Lord, each other, Christian resources, and the Bible, we will find strength, and we can share it with the world. There are many places we can go to find inspiration. Christian books and resources are a great place to find hope and you can also find accountability when you meet with other believers. The Bible holds many stories and experiences that we can find inspiration from. For example, look at the story of Noah. He was so willing to follow the Lord and His will, that He worked f...
