REMEMBER WHO IS IN CONTROL

We are coming to the end of 2020.  In a few weeks, we will be entering the final quarter for the year.  We are in an election year,  Much of 2020 has been focused on the pandemic, called COVID-19, or the corona virus.  Many families have been quarantined in their homes for months.  Schools have had to adjust to the restrictions caused by the virus and develop a new approach to teaching their students.  Many people have lost their jobs, or have had their hours drastically reduced because of the State directive to stay home, and practice social distancing.  We call it the "New Normal"!  I'm not sure I like that term, but it's sticking.

Many people struggle with financial challenges, loss of family and friends to the virus, loss of the way things used to be, social gatherings, even churches are holding their services virtually!.  We have to adapt to Zoom meetings instead of in-person meetings.  Businesses struggle to survive by coming up with contactless interactions with their customers.  In short, there is a lot of unknowns going on around us as never before.

The Good News!  God is still in control.  He's not the least bit surprised by anything that has happened in 2020.  As a matter of fact, it is my personal belief that God can use the uncertainties of our world experiences for our good!  He said so, through Paul, in Romans 8 verse 28.  "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."  For those of us who love God, and to those of us who are called, let us rejoice and remember, God is still in control.  Count the blessings He has giving you, even the little things.  Don't take anything for granted.

Name Recognition - Branding

When you think of the Catholic Church, what comes to mind? The Vatican, the Pope, Nuns, Priests, Rome? It dawned on me not so very long ago, that when people say they are a Christian, the meaning could be almost anything, and have nothing to do with Christ.   The reason I bring this point up is, my hearts desire is to see the Body of Christ united, strong, and economically empowered, and ministry's funded, mission work done and the Gospel of Jesus Christ preached to all the ends of the earth.       I know, but they are soooo cute!!! Have you ever seen shoe salesmen begging for you to come in and by the latest pair of Prada shoes? Of course not!   How about that $750.00 Coach bag, (at the outlet stores)? Men, just why do you have to have those $916.00 rims? Does it really make the car drive better?   How much for those Stacy Adams shoes, yes, men love to shop for the best too! If not Stacy Adams, what about Tommy Hilfiger? The point I want to make...

Inspired by the Word

What is it that inspires you? Is it a person? Is it a musician, or an athlete, or someone spiritual in your life who you look up to? Maybe it is not necessarily a person, but something like an event or experience that someone has had. Everyone draws inspiration from someone or something. The world watches for anything they can to find inspiration in, but yet they won’t look to the Lord. They allow others to hold that spot in their lives, but not the Creator. When we as Christians draw inspiration from the Lord, each other, Christian resources, and the Bible, we will find strength, and we can share it with the world. There are many places we can go to find inspiration. Christian books and resources are a great place to find hope and you can also find accountability when you meet with other believers. The Bible holds many stories and experiences that we can find inspiration from. For example, look at the story of Noah. He was so willing to follow the Lord and His will, that He worked f...
